How the calculation works
Reconstitution is the laboratory process of dissolving a lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptide in a suitable solvent — commonly bacteriostatic or sterile water — so it can be measured and studied. The resulting concentration is simply the mass of peptide divided by the solvent volume:
To find how much solution contains a target quantity, divide the target (in mcg) by the concentration (in mcg/mL). Multiplying that volume by the syringe rating gives the equivalent number of graduations on a standard measuring syringe (a U-100 syringe has 100 units per millilitre).

A worked example
Suppose a vial contains 10 mg of peptide and you add 2 mL of solvent. The concentration is 10 ÷ 2 = 5 mg/mL, or 5,000 mcg/mL. A target quantity of 250 mcg is contained in 250 ÷ 5,000 = 0.05 mL, which is 5 units on a U-100 measuring syringe.
