Why Peptide Purity Matters for Reproducible Research

Purity is the percentage of a sample that is the intended compound rather than impurities or by-products. It is one of the most important numbers on a Certificate of Analysis — and for good reason.
Impurities confound results
If a sample contains unknown impurities, any effect observed in an experiment could be caused by those impurities rather than the target peptide. Higher purity reduces that ambiguity.
Purity and reproducibility
Reproducibility — the ability to repeat a result — depends on using consistent, well-characterised material. Batch-to-batch purity data, verified by independent HPLC testing, is what makes that consistency possible.
What to look for
Look for a stated purity (e.g. ≥99%), the method used to measure it, and a batch-specific certificate. Learn how to read one on our quality page.
