A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document from analytical testing that reports a batch’s purity and identity.
What a COA shows
Typically the compound name, batch/lot number, test method (such as HPLC), measured purity percentage and the testing date.
Why purity matters
Impurities can confound experiments and reduce reproducibility. Higher, verified purity gives researchers confidence that observed results reflect the target compound.
